William and Susannah's children may have included:

William Head signed the 1777 petition of men living on the north Holston River complaining about the division of Fincastle County. They felt the line was not equitable and the court house was too far away.
William was listed in the Washington County, Virginia tax list from 1783 to 1810.

On March 21, 1791, William Head entered 305 acres on the waters of Cove Creek and Reedy Creek. He also inherited 400 acres bounded by Samuel Hensley and the Carolina line in the Rich Valley from his father.
At the time of the 1810 census, the family was in Washington County, Virginia. The household conisted of

On September 17, 1811, William and Susannah sold 305 acres to Martin Booher of Sullivan County, Tennessee for $2,000.
After they sold their land in Washington County, they moved to Howard County, Missouri to Boone’s Lick where he built Head's Fort.
In 1816, William was appointed as a commisioner to locate a county seat.
William’s sons Moses and Alfred were listed as members of the militia of Fort Hemstead under the command of Captain Sashall Cooper.
William Head was a Captain in the 3rd Company, 3rd Battalion, 3rd Regiment, Militia of the Territory of Missouri. William was appointed captain on August 13, 1814.
William died in 1824 in Howard County, Missouri.
Fincastle County, Virginia was created in 1772 from Botetourt County and abolished in 1776. It was divided into Montgomery, Washington and Kentucky Counties.
The American Revolution was ended in 1783 when the Treaty of Paris was signed.
The Holston River flows from Kingsport to Knoxville.

This Indenture made this 17th day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & eleven [1811]
Between William Head of the County of Washington & State of Virginia & Susanna his wife of the one part & Martin Booher of Sullivan County, Tennessee of the other part.
Witnesseth that the said William Head for and in consideration of the sum of two thousand current money of the United States to them in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged. Do grant, bargain & sell unto the said Martin Booher & heirs and assign forever, one certain tract or parcel of land lying & being in the county of Washington aforesaid, on the waters of Cove Creek and the waters of Reedy Creek being the waters of Holston River, containing three hundred & five acres and bounded as follows, to wit.
Beginning at a white oak and poplar corner to Samuel Hensley land & running with the line there of S44E130 poles to a large red oak and two ashes, then leaving said line S47W100 polles
to a sasafrace and hickory on a steep hill sideN39W132 poles along William Kings line & leaving the same to a black red oak & chestnut oak on the South side of a ridge, N55E385 poles to the Beginning with all its appurtenances.
